Movie Review- Julie and Julia

Ok, so I have to admit that I created this blog after watching Julie and Julia. I thought the film was a feel-good movie. It was one you would watch during a girl's night out. I thought that both Meryl Streep and Amy Adams did a wonderful job with their characters. While watching this film I felt that Meryl Streep WAS Julia Child. She did such a good job of acting just like the real Julia Child. I hope that she wins an oscar for her performance because her acting was spot-on. Amy Adam's character was lovable, fun and heartfelt. She is a cubicle worker by day and cook by night. I loved how in the beginning she had this feeling of insignificance, like she was doing nothing with her life, and then in the end people realized her true potential. Even her own mother said she could never finish anything she starts. So anyway what Amy Adam's character(Julie Powell) decided to do was cook her way through the Julia Child cook book. She had one year (365 days) to complete 524 recipes. I don't want to reveal too much though because it is worth seeing. Just seeing Meryl Streep's performance alone is a memorable experience. My favorite scene was when Julie had to boil lobsters and when she tried to put them all in the pot the lobsters knocked the lid off the pot trying to get out. All around it was a wonderful movie that left you happy but a little hungry because of all the cooking. I recommend this movie and give it a thumbs up. :)
